With planting season in the greenhouse & garden not that far away, how about a nice shrafty garden line, the reel is carved in one piece and the corresponding peg on the other end shaped to make it easy to push into the ground, the reel section is then filled with garden twine, simple & effective and a lovely little whittling project.
