Fjallraven G-1000 fabric

I have recently bought a 2nd hand jacket in this fabric and noticed the rain socked straight through it.

Fjallraven say to use thier wax (which I do have some of) but did not really want a wax finish jacket.

What other otions there for a 65%poly/35%cotton jacket ?

you could try nikwax polycotton wash in...http://www.nikwax.com/en-gb/products/productdetail.php?productid=758

i have had varied degrees of success with nikwax products.

or fabsil spray on seems to do a good job.

Nikwax Tech Wash is pretty good.

I know what you mean about that fabric, it's hopeless.

Nikwax do a spray-on wax that soaks right in and doesn't leave much of a waxy residue on the surface. I've found that G1000 isn't waterproof unless you build up layers of wax (in my case G wax and Nikwax combined). My jacket is now very good in all but the worst seater but still a lot lighter than a barbour. My trousers never get to the same weatherproofness though, as i wash them more regularly.

Thanks for all the replies, I should have been a bit clearer as well. This was not bought as a waterproof jacket, I would just like some water resistance from it.
