    Strikeforce1972 eBay seller

I've used them for years, and bought a lot of MTP British issue surplus. Jasper is very friendly and efficient and the products have always been spot on. When I have ordered the wrong size, (the UK uniform sizing can be a bot hit and miss...) he has always exchanged. Carriage to France is also...

    Wild Camping in France

In rural areas there are loads of Municipal campsites. In fact all over France there are hundreds of really nice campsites that are far cheaper than the UK. I've not travelled on a bike, but have lived, worked and travelled extensively in France for over 30 years, mostly in a small campervan...

    Sound recording

    Sound recording

It's not so much the recorder as the microphone. To get the best quality recordings you need a good quality mic. I'd suggest a directional shotgun type mic. Rode or Sennhieser are the ones I use for video work. As far as a recorder goes. Zoom make good ones, as do Tascam. You'd probably need one...

    Camera settings

Yes it all gets pretty technical.. Sorry, but he did ask. I could explain, if you got a day or two??? LOL And sorry no you can't do any of this with a Gopro.. which are great action cameras, and great for getting unusual angles.. but that's about it.. I've never been very keen on the GoPro...

    Camera settings

Hi there Yes it's a nice clip very atmospheric... As a filmmaker myself I can perhaps tell you how I would shoot such a clip... Due to lack of camera movement, he is almost certainly shooting himself... locked off on a tripod. This is a very labour intensive way to shoot, I've done it many...

    fishing advice request

Forget the little sonar, these devices are not very accurate and very little use at all for finding fish to catch. Echoes can be shoals of tiny fish tightly packed to show a large fish.. debris can show as fish etc. You have no idea what species are showing and if they even take a lure. No, the...

    Green waxing an Endicott smock?

I did it on an old Barbour once.. after rubbing in I used a hairdryer to melt and smooth out the wax.. worked well... But the coat was obviously already waxed from new..

    Video Editor

One worth checking out is DaVinci Resolve. The free version is very complete. It is a fairly complex app, but if you have the basics of ones like Adobe Première it is not too hard. There are long tutorials online too. Another one that is free and may be worth a look is the free version of Avid...

Ultimate vehicle for your ultimate adventure?

Two decades before the Santana... this was my daily drive round Paris... Not the ultimate vehicle.. but stylish. This one, (early 90's model) was fitted with a Malossi 210cc motor, bigger carb, sports exhaust and and disk brake conversion. Would sit at 70mp/h (112 km/h) all day.

Ultimate vehicle for your ultimate adventure?

Don't know about better, some areas have been improved, others less so or still the same as the old Series 3.... These cars had an Iveco 2.8L Sofim motor that is in many of the vans, campers, and light trucks. It is a pretty good unit and probably the one area that it is clearly above the...

This is mine... very happy with it.. Not many on the road here in France, but runs well is great off road, and I can get a carp fishing bedchair in the back.

    Modern British army clothing

Over the years I've used US army gear for fishing and outdoor stuff.. M65 jackets, Alice packs, (Oh! and a US fishtail parka..went with the scooter) ... But never really liked the British issue gear, or more precisely the DPM camo. However the modern PCS gear I really like.. first off its cheap...

    Paypal question

Recently I've noticed the latest version of Paypal defaults to dollars.... When you key in the currency you want it automatically converts it to dollars... You then have to go in and set both sides of the amount to your currency .. in my case Euros. Then before you finalise the payment is says...

Don't know the origins of the dish, but biggest chain restaurant in France selling mussels is Leon de Bruxelles.. so you may well be right.
